Gianluca and horses belong together since many years. He is keen about horses since he was a little boy and he starts living his first activities on a competitive level in 1982, taking part to gymkhana and cross country competitions. These are the first two experiences that lead Gianluca in 1990 to endurance and that make him able to appreciate the appeal and the importance of an equestrian discipline less conventional, but still able to give great emotions. Or better still, huge and manifold emotions, in view of the fact that riding is not just a matter of chemistry with the horse, but also it is that special and unique emotion to be as one with the nature inside which everyone lives his own sports commitment and with the consciousness of thinking about their own performance and respecting the sacrifice of the horse.

In a kind of "species evolution", Gianluca starts to participate in 1990 in endurance competitions, organizing over the years a stable and creating very important technical synergies with HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, with whom he shares projects focused to enhance the horse for endurance.
The collaboration with HH Sheikh Mohammed has become very soon on a high level, and it is still existent, tangible also from the fact that Gianluca is one of the trainers who refer to the principal patron of endurance in the World.

The United Arab Emirates will be a sort of promise land for Gianluca, who after having lived an escalation of leading role and sports achievements both on a national and international level, touches the sky with a finger on the 27th of January 2005 and in Dubai there are the World Endurance Championships. It is in that occasion that Gianluca and Jamil Bello contribute to the conquest of the historical team golden medal for Italy together with Angela Origgi-Jadana, Diana Origgi-Jasmineh e Pietro Moneta-Douarec, under the direction of the equipe chef Federico di Matteo. The exploit has all the reason to be regarded as historic: before that the last gold medal won by Italy in a absolute competition was back in 1980 to the Moscow Olympics Games.

Gianluca Laliscia has on his active 15 consecutive years of presence in the Italian national selection lists and several convocations in the Italian National Team. He boasts in his medal collection an Italian team championship (1994), two bronze medals to the Individual Italian Championship (2002 and 2008), the team golden medal at the World championship in Dubai(2005); a team golden medal and an individual silver medal to the CEIO of Italy (2006).
One of the most interesting aspects of a medal collection enriched by prestigious placings at all latitudes, is the longevity of a competitive athlete who over the years, through the programming of the work team, has been able to arise in important meetings, with horses similarly motivated and ready.

In his own sports career Gianluca boasts more than 150 participations to endurance international competitions not just in Italy, but abroad he has competed in Spain, Portugal, France, England, Ireland, Holland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Qatar, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, United States of America, Argentina and Slovakia. A sort of "globetrotter" of endurance, who has well used the constant comparison with different schools and interpreters. Taking a little bit from 'all and working out this knowledge through his own experience, Gianluca and his staff were able to develop new strategies and methodologies of training, in which the research of performance is developed, keeping systematically in mind the potential and the respect of the horse.

After the conquest of the golden medal as a team at the World Cup, Gianluca in 2005, was appointed as an equestrian coach of third level by the Italian Equestrian Sports Federation. In February 2014 he was appointed as the head coach of the National Italian Military. Among the positions held, the following are most praised: exclusive representative in Italy for the Dubai Equestrian Club since 2000, elected councilor as a representative of riders of the Umbrian Regional Committee of FISE from 2000 until 2004 and from 2008 until 2012. In the course of his business, he received the golden medal as a valued athlete of Coni (National olimpic committee of Italy), the golden medal of Coni Umbria, an award of the Association of Italian horse riding owners, honored as the "sports executive of the year" by the newspaper SportUmbria, the golden 'Baiocco' of the city Perugia, the golden medal of Assisi, the silver plate as trainer of the year 2015 from the Coni Umbria.

In 2009, Gianluca was appointed by the Italian Federation of Equestrian Sports, Italian Ambassador of endurance with the goal of filling a void felt in terms of institutional and international relationship, increasingly important not only in terms of legal-regulatory, but also especially about the link between Italian endurance and his protagonists with the highest levels of decision-making. The appointment came at a particular moment in which endurance asked certainties to look ahead with confidence and desire to grow, the same which can only be guaranteed through an international opening.

What further confirmed Gianluca's will and capability to live his sports commitment completely and in the absolute respect of rules, is his deed in the summer of 2009 to be the first subscriber of the ethic Chart for the safeguard of horses, a significant document, never written until then, meant to be a kind of "milestone" for all those engaged in the disciplines and activities related to the horse. An official and fundamental act through which Gianluca wanted to support consciously and undoubtfully the promotion , the spread and the initiative of the under-secretary to the Ministry for health, job and social politics, Francesca Martini.
